I am from… Poem

I am from glasses,
From lemonade and dog food.
I am from the cement house with stone covering,
and the jingle of the tags on my dog’s collar.
I am from the spiky palm tree,
and the garden that I’ve known since it had sprouts.
I’m from summers in India and debates,
From Bella and Arun.
I’m from potlucks and family movies
and from playing with the dog.
I’m from Santa is real and good for you,
and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
I’m from Christmas with cousins,
From Mesa and India,
and rice and curries.
From my dog survived Parvovirus,
and chatterbox.
From my 1st Grade notebook in my bookshelf.

The Holidays

Do you have any traditions that you celebrate during the holidays? By holidays, I mean Christmas and Hanukkah and that stuff. For me, my family spends the holidays with our second cousins. My grandfather had a lot of brothers and a sister, so my dad had even more cousins. We now spend it with a few of them that live here in the U.S. We usually switch whoever’s house we’re going to every year. For example, if the holidays was spent at my house last year, this year would be one of our cousin’s house, then the other cousin, then us, and so forth. I do enjoy the holiday tradition, and I hope to continue it every year.

Halloween Candy

Halloween, a time that everyone can enjoy dressing up like something foolish, even if they don’t like doing so. But after you spend so many hours trick-or-treating, you have this big bag full of candy. Whenever I go trick-or-treating, I usually eat some of the candies that I like the most. After that, I would probably donate the rest to charity. Some of you may eat all of it, and some of you might not eat any, but give it away. Tell me what you do with your candy in the comments.

Top 3 Most Underrated Superheroes

Superheroes, we loved them as kids, then didn’t care, and now love them again. To those people who aren’t fans of them(I’m not pointing fingers at anyone), they often hate on the ones who seem the least powerful. I’m here to disprove your thoughts! Maybe.

3. Spider Man – I didn’t put him on this list because he is underrated, I just think that not everyone has realized his true potential. He’s not just a guy in a suit who can shoot webs, when he got bit by a radioactive spider, he also found much better abilities. He has this thing called the Spider (or Spidey) Sense which allows him to react to things like bullets or arrows extremely fast. He can also move more than 200 miles per hour if he wants to. I guess you would like to be him for Halloween now, huh?

2 . Aquaman – Not everyone has heard of Aquaman, but from the reviews I have heard about him, he is considered the joke of the superheroes. I mean before, he used to have a bad costume, and not a very cool personality. The modern Aquaman though, he is cool enough to be called a superhero. He is the king of the sea (I thought that was Poseidon…), and he holds a mighty trident. He has an army of sea soldiers on sea horses in which he can summon whenever there is danger. Tell me that’s not a hero.

1. Batman – Of course you saw this coming. He is probably the most underrated of all superheroes. Many will argue that Batman has no superpowers, and therefore has no right to be called a superhero. I disagree! This guy has the most advanced technology in his generation, which I think qualifies for superpowers. He has done so much body building, that he looks a pro wrestler or a miniature version of The Hulk. Super enough for me! He has incredible memory, he has mastered over 70 martial arts and hasn’t forgotten them, tell me that can be found in the real world! He may not be a superhero to you, but if he existed, I can guarantee he would beat up someone in a supernatural way.

Tech Companies that I don’t like anymore cont.

Windows – Windows 7 is much better than 8. Windows 8 seems like an attempt to still stay in competition with Apple and Android. A lot of people I know hate the new Windows 8 phones, and I am not a fan of it too. Also, did you know that Bill Gates doesn’t even do any work. He just sits at home watching TV and boom, 3 billion dollars. He should know that his new OS is sucky, and do something about it.

The Vigilante

The Vigilante (vi-juh-lan-tee)

By: McKennon R., Abhinav A., and Vincent Z.

In Chicago,

Through the shadows,

On top of the tallest building,

Underneath the twilight,

With reason of justice,

Against crime,

The Vigilante watches silently.

Vigilantes are people who take the law into their own hands. The poem we made is not specifically centered to Batman, it’s just an example of one. Our group had different ideas for vigilantes, but we decided to speak for any vigilante.

Technology Companies that I don’t like anymore

Warning: I do not want to offend anyone with this post, this is my opinion.

Technology is an advancement of lifestyles. I remember when technology companies were innovative, coming up with revolutionary things. Well now some of them aren’t as good as they used to be. Let me tell you why.

Nintendo – There was a time, about a decade or two, when there were amazing Mario games. New ideas came here and there, everyone was happy. But I guess Nintendo just lost it all, and now they’re making sequels. The last original game came out 2 years ago, Super Mario 3-D Land. Let’s face it, it looks more like a mixture of Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario Galaxy 2. There’s even a sequel to that! Watch the trailer below. That makes the last original game Mario Galaxy, which came out 6 years ago! Redeem yourself, Nintendo!

Apple – Innovation, the word that represents, or should I say, used to represent the company. Instead of making a completely different product, they make a few changes at a time, taking forever to make the big change. The phone names are just so unoriginal. Really, 5C, 5S, 5? Here’s an idea, try making names for the phones that are more than just numbers and letters. I think the last innovate thing that Apple made was the iPhone 5C, and that just looks like they mixed an iPhone 5 with a 3GS. The only reason that Apple has a lot of sales is because it is somewhat easy to work with, and a lot of people get under popularity or because they trust the brand.

Is IOS 7 a good update?

The first time I heard of IOS 7 was 2 months ago. I was in India, visiting my family. I was reading my uncle’s newspaper, and heard about it. They said that it was going to have a 3-D perception and a whole different look. Well I guess that was a lie, because I recently saw photos of the IOS, and it isn’t 3-D or much different. It just has a slimmer look. The newspaper also said that it would be available to all apple devices. That’s a lie too, because my sister saw the Apple website say that it was only available to the newer devices like the iPod touch 5, iPhones 5,5S,5C, and maybe 4S, and iPads 2,3, mini, and 4. I don’t know if I should trust this software, so please comment and tell me if it’s good. Thanks for reading.

My Dog, Bella

20130917-214101.jpg

This is my dog, Bella. She is currently 4 months old, and is a Jack Russell Terrier/ Pit Bull Terrier Mix. We got her from a shelter that my sister volunteers at. She was being fostered by a lady who has been growing up with dogs ever since she was 12. We looked at many dogs, but this one just seemed to fit our style the most. Her name was Barbara Ann, but we didn’t like that, so we came with the name Bella after a long debate. She has somewhat of a bipolar personality. When she is fully awake, she can go from playful to maniac. When she is sleepy, you can just pick her up, or put her on your lap and she won’t even care, she’ll probably just sleep on you. We do have some problems, like potty training, and training in general, but I think that we are going to be just fine.
